Charles Amuguni

DVM

Dr. Charles Amuguni was raised in the western province of Kenya, near the north eastern part of Lake Victoria. His upbringing drove him to a passion for helping animals, ultimately pursing a bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Nairobi in 1989. After graduating, Dr. Amuguni worked for the Kenyan government under the Department of Veterinary Public Health before joining the private veterinary sector.

While moving into private practice, Dr. Amuguni ran a mixed private practice that provided care large dairy and beef animals, as well as small animals. His practice was based in the coastal province of Kenya, Kilifi, before he decided to move to Massachusetts in 1998.

After coming to the United States, Dr. Amuguni worked as a Veterinary Technician in both emergency and general practice. He has been practicing small animal emergency medicine for the past 10 years and has a wealth of experience in emergency veterinary care. Dr. Amuguni enjoys working in emergency medicine and takes a special interest in veterinary surgery. In his spare time, Dr. Amuguni enjoys touring and taking road trips, especially long-distance train rides.
