Rachel Duffany
DVM, Director of Emergency Services
Dr. Rachel Duffany grew up in Watertown, New York and developed her passions for veterinary practices at an early age. Dr. Duffany vividly recalls her 7th birthday party at Old McDonald’s Farm as being the instigator that made her want to become a veterinarian. She followed her passions throughout high school, enrolling in a course called “New Vision,” which enabled Dr. Duffany to spend 3 hours each day of her senior year rotating through different human and veterinary medical fields.
Dr. Duffany began working for Westford Veterinary Center in January of 2018. Having attended St. Lawrence University, Dr. Duffany graduated Cum Laude in 2011 with a major in biology and minors in chemistry and sports medicine. After undergraduate school, she went on to pursue her doctorate from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Duffany graduated from veterinary school in 2015 with honors, and hasn’t looks back since.
“I enjoy being a veterinarian because every day is a different adventure,” Dr. Duffany says. “It is rare to have two days that provide the same challenges, and solving puzzles is something I thoroughly enjoy.”
At home, Dr. Duffany enjoys passing the time playing softball, hiking, partaking in outdoor activities, going to the beach or doing anything on the water, and reading a good page turner. She owns a German Shepherd named Kyzer, a Pitbull named Rizzo, and a Pitbull/Island Mutt mix named Viola.
