Tammy

Emergency Veterinary Technician

Tammy is a full-time veterinary technician who first joined the Westford Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center as an intern in 1997. Since then, she’s been in the animal care field for 22 years. She has a strong knowledge of surgery and anesthesia and a strong background in emergency medicine. At WVERC, Tammy triages emergency cases and assists the emergency doctor with CPR in critical cases. She’s also responsible for reviewing estimates with clients, implementing doctor’s orders for outpatient procedures and full anesthetic monitoring of surgery patients.

Tammy loves working at WVERC because it’s an up and coming practice with a lot to offer, including specialty departments like internal medicine, cardiology, surgery, and neurology. “. I have worked in general practices in the past and I found that there was always something missing. Once I started working in emergency medicine, I realized it was a good fit for me.

At home, Tammy has a lot of pets including her two dogs Luna and Maggie Mae. She also has four cats; Elvis, Keeva, Corbin, and Will Feral. Tammy also has a mini-farm with chickens, turkeys, and goats. During her free time, she runs a seasonal business called Central Mass Goat Rental where she rents out her goats to eat up invasive weeds in targeted areas of residential properties. It is a chemical-free option for the eradication of noxious plants. She also likes to spend time with her family and friends, kayaking, camping, and hiking.
