Christine

Specialty Services Coordinator

With over 20 years’ experience in the animal field, specialty services coordinator Christine Hanney has been working at Westford Veterinary Emergency Referral Center since day one, in November 2012. She received her associate’s degree in Animal Science from Mt. Ida College. Her job responsibilities include overseeing the day to day aspects of the specialty department and ensuring strong communication between all of the departments here at WVERC. She is also the hospital liaison to both the NEADS program and the Lowell Humane Society.

The best part of Christine’s job is working with our patients. “I really enjoy meeting our clients and their beloved pets. I love hearing their stories and seeing the bond between them,” says Christine. “I also enjoy communicating and working with our other departments to achieve the highest quality care for our patients.”

Christine occasionally volunteers for organizations like ACE (Animal Care and Education, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating others about the care of animals in need. At home, Christine has a three-year-old terrier mix named Jack Skywalker that she rescued from Texas and a 13-year-old Chihuahua mix named Hershey. Christine is a licensed horseback riding instructor and was a member of the Mt. Ida Equestrian Team. Growing up, she competed in several different disciplines and now enjoys trail riding for fun. Christine likes to spend her free time hiking, gardening, reading, and grilling. She also enjoys spending time with her two sons.
